About Kevin Acevedo
Kevin Acevedo — also listed as Kevin Acevedo-Carlson — is a trial lawyer with more than twenty-five years of experience representing clients across Texas and Puerto Rico, in state and federal courts. He began his career in Puerto Rico, where he spent his first decade on personal injury and complex commercial matters: contracts, insurance, construction, intellectual property, medical malpractice, employment law and civil rights litigation. It was an unusually broad start for a young lawyer, and it is the reason Ace Law can take five very different kinds of case today without sending clients somewhere else.
He became licensed to practice in Texas in 2013. After living in Puerto Rico and San Antonio, he relocated to Houston in 2015 to expand his practice. For many years he served as Head of the Personal Injury, Civil and Criminal Defense departments at The Gonzalez Law Group, helping thousands of clients obtain results across Harris, Fort Bend, Montgomery, Galveston, Brazoria and surrounding counties.

Bilingual in English and Spanish, Kevin provides accessible representation to a diverse community. He has built a reputation as a fierce advocate in the courtroom and a compassionate counselor outside of it, guiding clients through some of the hardest moments of their lives. Known for being both savvy and street-smart, he is prepared to try any case in Texas — including the ones where the odds are unfavorable.
In January 2025 he founded Ace Law in Houston, focused on personal injury, criminal defense, and civil and business litigation. He and his team stay committed to every case from intake to resolution, and Kevin still reviews each new matter personally before the firm accepts it.
